The representation of physicians, physician practice groups, nurses and other healthcare professionals in litigation involving malpractice as well as employment and administrative matters. Kent has successfully defended his clients in all stages of litigation. His trial experience includes serving as lead counsel in malpractice cases defending primary care physicians and orthopedic surgeons among others.

R. Kent Hornbrook was born and raised in nearby Morgantown, W.Va. and still has roots in the Mountain State. He attended West Virginia University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management. In his prior career, Kent was responsible for advertising, sales, client relations and development for the Frederick Keys, a minor league baseball team in Maryland.  After working with the ball club for four years, he moved to Pittsburgh to attend law school at Duquesne University and pursue a legal career. While a student at Duquesne, Kent was a law clerk for The Honorable Deborah Todd of the Pennsylvania Superior Court. After graduation, Kent spent three years with a Philadelphia medical malpractice defense firm.

Kent and his wife, Laura, and their daughter, Madeline reside in Mt. Lebanon. Kent is an avid golfer and enjoys traveling and the outdoors in his spare time. Kent and his family are members of the historic Shadyside Presbyterian Church.

Recently, Kent tried to verdict a case in which he represented a family practitioner accused of failure to diagnose necrotizing fasciitis. He secured a dfense verdict for that physician. He, also, recently was successful in defending an orthopedic surgeon in a case involving failing to recognize diminished blood supply to an extremity after surgery.
